We have received numerous inquires from purchasers concerning the mortgage guidelines on the employment verification process during these uncertain Covid-19 times.
So I had asked Bryan Cohen, Branch Manager of The Home Team of Freedom Mortgage to answer:
While banks are remaining diligent with qualifying income standards, Fannie and Freddie have released guidance on verbal verification of employment which is required within 10 days of closing.
Typically, If a verbal verification is unavailable, then either an email directly from the employer confirming income or the most recent paystub dated before the note date will be accepted if an email is not obtainable confirming active employment.
Please be mindful these guidelines are subject to change without notice and will be determined on a case by case common sense basis.
